Schatz, are you getting me a floooooower??
No, he got me more than one. :) Lilies. And three roses for Valentine's Day. What a sweetheart!
Germany was, in one word, wonderful. The boy, his family, friends, roommates, atmosphere, etc. All wonderful.
The only significantly negative thing about my trip was all the smoke. I spent most of the two weeks trying to breathe and also smell. Other than that, the trip was great. I posted a few pictures on Flickr. If you want the link, e-mail me. I'll try to post of few on LJ at some later point.
P and I talked tonight and we might get to see each other sooner than August. Please keep your fingers crossed or the situation in prayer (or both). It would be so wonderful to be able to see him in just a few months as opposed to 6. Also, please pray for Patrick's grad school search/applications/what ever the heck you want to call it. He should hear back shortly but right now he is playing the waiting game and that is hard on both of us. If you think about it, send him mental hugs.
In the process of looking back at some recent struggles, I am now able to see part of what (and to some degree, how)God was working in my life. I love the process of recognition - when you start to realize just how those struggles had a purpose and you can begin to associate good with previously negative events. Every time I begin to see good in what could be considered bad, the optimist in me cheers. :) God is so good! (smile)
That's all for now. I'll write more later. *hugs*

Liz showed this to me sometime this past summer while she was teaching stats and then my friend, Brandi - a grad student in stats at UCLA, brought this to my attention again. I'm amused.
